Route Information

  • The King Price Race to the Sun gravel race is famous for being flat and fast with a final challenging push at the Finish.
  • CAUTION: Please be alert when you hit 35 – 37 km and prepare for a rough, washed out section, that could potentially catch a rider unaware. Remember to be extra careful when approaching this section in a bunch at high speed.
  • This year we scouted an exciting little detour in the second half of the route. An all-new section just after the KOM, a little way beyond water point 3, was added! This section, which includes a slight drag to add a couple of metres to your total elevation, bypasses the rural community that was the cause of some mischief in the past, making it much safer for all.
  • The new addition brings the second half of the route to 85 km and the race total to 164 km.
  • The halfway mark will be at Water Point 2 at Beestekraal Kerk, Roodekoppies where supporters can meet up with their riders to offer some much-needed moral support and T.L.C.
  • Be ready for the K.O.M. hot spot at 106 km and throw down the gauntlet! This is just before Water Point 3.
