It’s Race to the Sun race week and we would like to get you race ready before then. Below you will find all the necessary details for the event: route files, batch details, emergency numbers, start times etc.

SASeeding Timing Board
All participants need a SASeeding timing board to take part in the race. Should you already have a SASeeding board, please remember to bring along on the day. Boards available for purchase at the event registrations for R60. Boards can be hired for R100 and you will receive your money back at the end.
Time to get those GPS devices ready. Below the route files available for download. Please note we travel through private property, do not attempt the route beforehand.
Registration takes place on Friday, 24 May 2019 at the following venues from 10h00 – 17h00.
We recommend making use of one of the pre-registration venues on Friday. If you can’t make it, we’ve got you covered! Registration takes place on race day at the start from 6am.
Each water point will be an oasis with cold coke and water, ice, and plenty of food. Supporters are allowed to feed the riders during race. Water point 1 and 3 are also spectator points. Water point 3 is where relay teams will hand over to the next member(s). Please remember to pack your own special nutritional supplements to mix and energy gels.
We’ve arranged a shuttle service from Sun City to Hartbeespoort Dam on Saturday, 25 May 2019 at 04h00am. This can be booked for R549 from Amelia at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note this is a first come first serve basis. Limited spots available.
The shuttle service is now closed, please email email@example.com if you have not made arrangements. The planned time for the shuttle service to depart from Sun City will be at 13h00 & 17h00 on 25 May 2019. Please make sure you have your bike loaded and ready to leave at least 15min before departure time.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Route marshals and traffic authorities have been placed at critical road crossings. As a rider, it stays your own responsibility to look and see if it is SAFE to cross or overtake on the roads. Stay on the LEFT SIDE of the gravel/dirt roads on the shoulder off the road to avoid any contact with a vehicle.
Bag Drop & Drop-off Zone
Each rider will receive a bag tag in their goody bag. Please ensure you keep your armband secure, as this will be your token to retrieve your bag from the Bag Drop Zone.
There will be a dedicated drop-off zone for those families who will go straight to Sun City from the start. No need to park, simply drop off and leave.
There will be sweeping vehicles on route. If you are picked up by a sweeping vehicle you will be dropped-off at the next water point.
