Race to the Sun was made for the adventurer, solo rider, team player or relay rider.

2019 RACE OPTIONS

The race can be done by means of the following:

Solo Rider

R900 per person

The dedicated individual cycling at your own pace, just you, your bike, the road and endurance.

Teams

R1800 for Two | R3600 for Four

The race can be enjoyed by enthusiastic teams of two or four motivating one another to endure until the end.

Relay Teams

R1600 for Two | R3200 for Four

The race can be enjoyed by relay teams of two or four. First half of the team will ride the first 86km and the second the rest of the distance.

SOLO RIDERS & TEAMS

Solo riders or teams of two and four, will have a neutral start at Hartbeespoort Die Oewer. The journey will stretch over 162km, across farms roads, townships and canals throughout Brits. Three water points will be located at: NG Church Dalunie, Roodekopjes Dam and after Bojateng. A family member will have to take your vehicle to Sun City and enjoy the day there, or stop at each of the spectator points to cheer you along.

RELAY TEAMS

There are two options available for the team relay. One rider takes on the solo journey for 85km and meets his/her partner at Roodekopjes Dam, which is halfway. The second option is to have a relay team of four member. Two members will then start and meet the other team mates at Water point 2. Team mates will drop off their first riders at Hartbeespoort Die Oewer and drive with their vehicle towards Roodekopjes Dam. Here they will await their team mates as they journey on the first 85km. They will then take over the relay and finish the rest of the route. Team mates will proceed to Sun City where they will be awaited by their teams.

ROUTE INFORMATION

This grand adventure needs preperation and planning. Each rider will embark on a unique journey where they will need to navigate through GPS, endure tough terrains, long distances and beautiful views.

ACCOMMODATION

Spend the night at Sun City resort. Special accommodation rates and voucher codes will be emailed through once registered. Accommodation available at the Cabanas, Soho and Cascades. A 2 night minimum stay is applicable over the weekend.

2019 Shuttle Service

A shuttle service is available for purchase on Jumpertrax. Riders will be transported with their bikes back to Hartbeespoort Die Oewer from Sun City at a cost of R549. Click on the button below to add to your entry.
